Abstract

This study is a descriptive qualitative research, which aims to determine the role of principals and teachers in the implementation of clean and healthy living behavior. The subjects in this study were the principal, 5 teachers, and 3 students. The data collection technique of this research is by using interview and observation techniques. Data validity checks using source triangulation and technique triangulation. The data analysis techniques in this study are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that the role performed by the principal in the implementation of PHBS in schools, namely 1) as a leader who influences and mobilizes students and establishes relationships or cooperation with parties outside the school. 2) as a manager who prepares plans, monitors, and organizes the implementation of PHBS. 3) as an administrator who repairs and develops all school facilities in the implementation of PHBS. 4) as an educator who directs and gives examples to students and oversees the development of the implementation of PHBS. While the role performed by teachers in the implementation of PHBS in schools, namely 1) as a teacher who gives influence in terms of knowledge and habituation of PHBS. 2) as a motivator who reminds, provides role models and instills self in students in the implementation of PHBS. 3) as a mediator who encourages good social behavior in students in the implementation of PHBS. 4) as a facilitator who bridges and provides PHBS facilities. 5) as a manager who guides students' daily experiences towards independent behavior in PHBS.
