Abstract

The use of capital letters is starting to be rarely paid attention to, where most students are not yet able to apply the rules for using capital letters. This research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental research design which aims to find out the description of the application of capital letters for class III students at SD Inpres 6/75 Majang who are taught using the drill method and classes taught without using the drill method and to determine whether or not there is a significant influence between application of capital letters for class III students at SD Inpres 6/75 Majang who are taught using the drill method and classes that are not taught using the drill method. The variable in this research is the drill method (independent variable), while the application of students' capital letters (dependent variable). The population in the research was 31 students in class III of SD Inpres 6/75 Majang, using a saturated sample by determining class III A as the experimental class and III B as the control class. Research data was obtained by giving a test of the rules for using capital letters. The data collection technique used was a test. The data analysis technique is descriptive analysis and inferential analysis using the Independent Sample T-test. The conclusion of this research is that there is a significant influence of the use of the drill method on the use of capital letters in class III students at SD Inpres 6/75 Majang, Bone Regency.
