Penerapan Teams Games Tournament dalam Meningkatkan Motivasi Belajar Siswa pada Mata Pelajaran Matematika kelas VI SDN 1 Tatura Palu
Abstract
Based on the results of observations and experiences of researchers during the Field Experience Program in class VI of SD Negeri 1 Tatura, Palu, there are still problems as follows: (1) Learning still focuses on textbooks, where the teacher explains the material and then gives questions to students. (2) Teachers rarely utilize mathematics learning media, which causes students to have difficulty understanding the material being taught. (3) When students conduct group discussions, they lack collaboration in the process. This study applied the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method which consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. In the planning phase, educators and researchers developed a lesson plan by applying the game-based Teams Games Tournament (TGT) Cooperative model. The research showed that the application of the Teams Games Tournament learning model was effective in increasing student learning motivation in class VI of SD Negeri 1 Tatura Palu. This result is supported by the increase in student learning activities seen in each indicator in each cycle. This research shows clear success through the achievement of measurable learning activeness in each cycle. In cycle I, the average level of learning motivation was recorded at 47.5%, which then increased to 90% as a result of improving the learning process in cycle II.
