Abstract

Aktivitas fisik merupakan salah satu faktor penting yang berperan dalam menjaga kesehatan mental mahasiswa. Mahasiswa Pendidikan Jasmani, Kesehatan, dan Rekreasi memiliki karakteristik akademik yang berkaitan erat dengan aktivitas jasmani, baik melalui perkuliahan praktik maupun kegiatan olahraga di luar kampus. Namun, tuntutan akademik, penggunaan teknologi digital, perubahan pola hidup, dan tekanan sosial dapat memengaruhi kondisi kesehatan mental mahasiswa. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji keterkaitan aktivitas fisik dan kesehatan mental pada mahasiswa Pendidikan Jasmani, Kesehatan, dan Rekreasi FIKK UNM. Metode yang digunakan adalah literature review dengan menelaah berbagai artikel ilmiah, buku, dan dokumen akademik yang relevan mengenai aktivitas fisik, kesehatan mental, mahasiswa, dan pendidikan jasmani. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas fisik berkontribusi positif terhadap kesehatan mental mahasiswa, terutama dalam membantu menurunkan tingkat stres, kecemasan, dan gejala depresi. Aktivitas fisik juga berperan dalam meningkatkan suasana hati, kualitas tidur, kepercayaan diri, interaksi sosial, serta kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menghadapi tekanan akademik. Dalam konteks mahasiswa PJKR FIKK UNM, aktivitas fisik tidak hanya menjadi bagian dari tuntutan kurikulum, tetapi juga dapat dimaknai sebagai strategi promotif dan preventif untuk menjaga kesehatan mental. Oleh karena itu, penguatan budaya hidup aktif, pengelolaan aktivitas jasmani yang terstruktur, serta edukasi kesehatan mental perlu menjadi perhatian dalam lingkungan akademik pendidikan jasmani.
